get rare items (evolution stones and items)

Some wild Pokemon have items atached to them, so if you catch them, you wil have these items.

The items that are probably most intresting are the evolution stones. Here is a list of pokemon holding stones and shards:

Corsola: red shard (trade for fire stone)
Clamperl: blue shard (trade for Water stone)
Chinchou: yellow shard (trade for thunder stone)
Relicanth: green shard (trade for leaf stone)
Solrock: sun stone
Lunatone: Moon stone

But only one of so many of these pokemon have an items atached to them, so best way to find out wich pokemon does is to put a pokemon in your party that knows knock off, then when you encounter a wild pokemon, you use knock off. If you see an item beeing knocked off, you catch the pokemon, if it didn't have an item, you run away.

I think this is the best way to find more shards and items, I used my Corfish, but you can also use an other pokemon that knows Knock off (Hariyama, Sableye,...)

Other items that can be found are:

Big pearl: gulpin
stardust: staryu
nugget: grimer
dragon scale: bagon/horsea (can be used to make seadra evolve)
Kings rock: Hariyama


(there are also a few pokemon that may have berries atached to them, but I don't exacly know wich ones)
